GWC is on the hunt for our next Retail Sales and Customer Service Rockstar. We have a history of hiring great people who treat everyone who comes through our doors as family. We’re looking for someone who has strong business and sales acumen, loves dealing with people, is excellent at recommending and suggesting wines; and can help keep business running smoothly as we grow.
The main focus of our Retail Sales Specialist will be to help manage our existing customer base (25% of your time) while also growing our customer base (75% of your time). This will require someone who has experience building and growing a territory or customer base, working in an environment where they have monthly, quarterly and/or annual sales targets; and coming up with creative marketing and sales strategies that help us tap into new business.
- 1+ years experience in the wine, restaurant, hospitality or tourism industry
- 1+ years of experience in a retail environment
- 1+ years of experience in a formal sales role where target achievement was a key component of your role
- General knowledge about wine and/or wine making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Business, Communications, Sales, Marketing, Events or similar area of study
Bonus points if you have or are working towards:
- Serving it Right
- WSET Level 1 and/or 2 or similar wine/spirits certification
Compensation: Base salary/rate plus commissions and bonuses for targets achieved, specific targets will be discussed in the interview. Other perks of the job:
- No nights, we close at 6pm Tues through Friday and 3pm on Sat. Sundays and Mondays always off
