**Job description**

**A/V TECHNICIAN**

Job Summary

Perform installation tasks for Alarm, CCTV and security projects including but not limited to: Pulling cable, terminating connectors, mounting, pulling & supporting all associated security cable, equipment termination & control panel termination and final systems programming.

PRIMARY TASKS WILL BE ALARM INSTALLATIONS AND RESIDENTIAL LOW VOLTAGE AV PREWIRING.

Secondary tasks will include preforming comprehensive, onsite audio-visual equipment installations, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, mounting large screen displays, installing unified communication systems, projection systems, media rooms, audio hardware, speakers and control systems.

- Perform client training as needed
- Customer liaison in absence of Project Manager
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
- Systems programming per design
- Effective problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Solid experience with Residential & Commercial Audio-Visual installations is not required but would be a strong benefit. Projectors, screens, displays, wiring, cabling, computer controls, rack-building
- Hands on experience with installing AV hardware/systems
- Basic understanding of input and outputs of each device for installation purposes
- Possess a basic understanding of configuration of each system to include network connectivity and remote controls of each device
- Basic control system programming knowledge
- AV installation & integration
- Flat, tilt and full motion mount installation
- Installation of projectors, home theater, home automation, audio & video distribution, speakers and whole house networking
- Installation of security cameras and alarms in residential and commercial
- Setup and calibration of TVs
- Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
- Test point to point functionality of systems
- Field installation of control programs (Crestron) - upload and download capability
- Basic data networking and wireless networking
- Travel to various job sites required

**Requirements**:

- **Must have Alarm installation & programming experience (DSC & Honeywell)**
- Must be able to read, understand and execute jobs as per quote and floor plans
- Must own basic tools
- Must own a cell phone
- Must have own reliable vehicle to get to appointments and office meetings
- Flexible schedule with abilities to work overtime and out of town.
- Must be able and willing to work in all types of weather
- Must be able to use hand tools & test equipment; know how to solder & crimp connections; lift < 100 lbs
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License; have and continue to maintain a safe driving record
- Must provide a clean Criminal Background Check
- Must possess a valid Passport (For travel purposes to the USA for training)
- Holding a valid M-License VDV (preferred)
- CCTV installation and programming experience (preferred)
- Card Access installations and programming experience (preferred)
