Summer Grounds Keepers

2 positions at 7 weeks: starting in May or July 2023.

These 2 positions are dependent on funding through the Ontario Summer Experience Program (SEP) Grant, and applicants must be between the ages of 15-24 year.

The Ground Keepers are responsible for general grounds maintenance, grass cutting, flower/shrub bed maintenance, grounds clean-up, ensuring paths are clear and destination grounds are free of tree debris. Position will include movement of equipment and supplies throughout the building, including set-up and tear-down of function equipment and furniture. Due to COVID-19, enhanced vigilance on cleaning throughout all areas is required and the positions would work with the Facilities department in helping to ensure routine cleanliness..

Experience working with lawn tools and machinery, and/or working in lawn care. Energetic, flexible with good customer service skills in a public institution. Position will require lifting items up to 20kg and bending to support maintenance duties. First Aid training an asset.
