Under the supervision of the Sanitation Lead Hand, the QA Day Sanitation personnel performs daily sanitation activities throughout the processing areas that are not assigned to Shift Sanitation personnel.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assemble and disassemble all equipment as necessary to perform required cleaning and sanitation duties.
- Properly follow SSOPs and Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces.
- Follow the daily cleaning schedule and ensure all cleaning tasks are carried out for the following areas: employee areas (including the lunchroom, entrance hallway, locker area, offices, and washrooms.)
- Upkeep of laundry.
- Sweep and mop the floors, clean walls, racks, pipes, and doors.
- Refill soap and hand towels in the bathrooms.
- Perform general housekeeping including mopping, sweeping and garbage collection.
- Report potential issues to QA manager.
- Documents all cleaning activities performed daily ensuring the defined frequency is adhered to.
- Ensures documentation is properly organized and filed.
- Takes ownership of the areas to be cleaned and ensures cleaning is completed to the highest standard, in a timely manner.
- Works with QA Manager to ensure that the adjustments are made to the daily cleaning schedule in order to support the plant hygiene program.
- Proactively performs all tasks in a food-safe manner by **1.** Reporting to QA Manager any potential problems, hazards, and broken or damaged equipment. **2.** Highlighting improvements in cleaning practices and/or tools to QA Manager.
- Works in a safe manner by ensuring all safety rules are followed when working around equipment/with equipment (floor scrubbers), and when using cleaning products.
- Safely use, transport, and store all cleaning chemicals and tools.
- Assists in other areas of the department as needed.
- Submit purchase requirements when needed.
- Accompany QA Technician during pre-operation inspection and perform cleaning/re-cleaning where necessary.
- Participate in relevant sanitation training
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Any other duties assigned by QA Manager or Plant Manager

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Proven working experience as a Cleaner.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Integrity.
- Experience of working in a Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) certified environment, knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)’s and food safety rules / regulations are preferred.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of cleaning and sanitation preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to work within a tight schedule while maintaining proficiency, accuracy and meeting department goals, priorities, and deadlines.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Able to take responsibility for actions.
- Cost efficient use of company materials and resources.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
