**1 ‑ Part Time (.5) ‑ RPN**

**Pre‑Admission Clinic**

This position will involve working the Day, Evening and Weekend shifts. The shift is not to be interpreted as a

guarantee.

Reporting to the Manager of Surgical Services, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients

who are scheduled for operative procedures including but not limited to a general assessment, best possible

medication history, documentation and collection of required documents required for their operative procedure and

pre and post‑operative teaching. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the Standards

of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy and Values of Nursing Services and the policies of the Hospital.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in BCLS
- Recent experience in Surgical Nursing with experience caring for pre and postoperative surgical patients
- Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his

basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
- Strong interprofessional and communication skills

Salary Range: $31.160 to 31.987
