Junior Estimator

**Brantford Engineering and Construction Ltd. (BEC) is a heavy civil construction company operating out of Brantford, Ontario. BEC has successfully operated for 40 years as a general contractor completing a wide variety of projects between London, Collingwood, Toronto, and Port Dover. BEC specializes in complex underground civil projects.**

**BEC is currently recruiting for a Junior Project Manager/Estimator**

**Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties**
- Review contracts and drawings to gain an understanding of the project requirements.
- Evaluate contractor estimates / proposals confirming pricing and conformity to project specifications.
- Attend site meetings and potential projects to increase the accuracy of estimates
- Utilize bidding software to create estimates and take offs
- Create RFQ's for material suppliers and subcontractors and help manage the relationships with same
- Represent the company in project meetings. Develop and manage customer relationships and expectations, progress reports, communication, paperwork, schedules, meetings, etc.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Required Education, Training and Experience**:

- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar is strongly preferred
- A minimum of 5 years relevant project experience in a heavy civil construction environment, including a thorough knowledge of estimating, construction industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
- Professional designation such as Professional Engineer, Certified Engineering Technologist or Project Management Professional is considered to be an asset but is not required.

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brantford, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- construction estimating: 1 year (preferred)
