SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE

This role works directly onsite of a concrete residential high-rise project. Being comfortable working at heights is a requirement.
**What you’ll do**:
- Take a daily personnel count and ensure accurate count through the day.
- Conduct daily orientations for new workers.
- Walk the site daily to look for unsafe acts or hazardous conditions.
- Check and sign off on the field level hazard assessments of workers.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Conduct regular formal site inspections - post findings on safety wall.
- Chair JHSC committee - ensure regular meetings are scheduled and attended.
- Ensure OH&S regulations are being complied with at all levels on site.
- Ensure Mission Group safety manual is understood/communicated to staff.
- Conduct incident investigations, near miss reports, observation reports, and first aid reports.
- Administer first aid to injured workers.
- Drive injured workers to hospital or clinic if required.
- Install guard rails/bump lines/anchor points.
- Install other various safety related hardware, such as mushroom caps, guard rails etc.
- Ensure safety walls hold current and appropriate data for the worksite.
- Conduct site muster drills.
- Assist the Director of HSE with COR audit for site related items.
- Administrate hot work permit program
- Maintain SDS database and organize available trade safety manuals
- Administrate CO monitoring program. Sign in/out monitors as needed
- Ensure that all trades are conducting and submitting daily hazard assessments
- Ensure that all trades are conducting and submitting weekly safety meetings
- Collaborate with the HR department to handle complaints of harassment and bullying.
- Enforce and communicate drug and alcohol policy
- Inspect fire extinguishers on a monthly basis.
- Maintain safety related items - First aid kits/eye wash stations/air horns etc.
- Ensure site appropriate signage is present.
- Liaise with WorkSafe officers if/when they conduct site inspections - follow up and comply to any orders issued.
- Work in tandem with safety staff from subcontractors.
- Send statistical reports to the Director of HSE.
- Other responsibilities as required.
**What you’ll bring**:
- CSO Certification, or other comparable safety certification, education or experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety role.
- High-rise construction with tower crane experience is considered an asset.
- Level 2 first aid is required (or will be provided).
- Knowledge of COR Audit process is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suites and Safety programs.
- Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
- Good organizational and motivational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with staff and trades. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and work at heights.

**What we offer**:
At Mission Group, we regularly review our compensation program to maintain competitive base salaries and variable pay bonuses. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000.
