We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Business System Analyst to join our IT team in Langley, BC.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Applications support, you will work closely with business partners to analyze business requirements and working with Systems Analysts and/or programmers to translate business requirements into proposed business solutions.

More specifically, you will be responsible for capturing business objectives and needs into high-level requirements, translating them into detailed solution requirements & specifications, and play a key role working as part of the delivery team to ensure that solutions achieve their intended goals.

You will be responsible for:
- Conducting current state analysis and developing future state recommendations for technology solutions and business processes that drive identified business outcomes.- Collaborating with Enterprise Architects to perform gap analysis on current business capabilities, eliciting business requirements, and assessing the need for new systems or enhancements to current technology.- Assisting in preparing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and providing leadership in analyzing complex, cross-domain issues that are unclear.- Developing business relationships to maintain awareness of business requirements, benefits, and risks, and then translating these into recommended plans and solutions.- Delivering functional specifications/user stories.- Providing system training to business and other IT users and providing support to system users when needed.- Performing various roles on projects when needed including but not limited to project leader, leading and planning integration and system test cycles, acting as a tester or as a User Acceptance Test Coordinator.- Preparing work package plans and/or project plans.- Producing deliverables such as project charters, functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, system context diagrams and/or data and interface mappings as appropriate to proposed solutions.- Reviewing user and business-related documentation to ensure compliance with IT policies and best.

You have:
- A post-secondary diploma or Degree in Computer Science or a Degree in Commerce/Business Administration combined with experience with IT solutions and services.- 4+ years of combined IT & business analysis experience (required)- Broad experience with Software Development Lifecycle processes and methodologies, including Agile, Kanban and Modified Waterfall.- Demonstrated ability in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases and user stories with acceptance criteria.- The ability to collaborate with the project teams including software developers, analysts, and business resources and be the solution anchor.- Experience in Retail or Finance business areas would be an asset.

$79,950.00 - $99,938.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
