- The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Resilient City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.- The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department is looking for a regular full-time Building Maintenance Coordinator at the Shipyards and Waterfront.**Responsibilities**
- In this supervisory position you will plan, develop, and implement a preventative maintenance program for building, support systems and public realm. You will monitor the work of contractors, subordinates, and liaise with outside contractors and municipal departments to coordinate planned alterations, prepare work specifications and assist in the preparation of budget estimates. You will regularly inspect properties and infrastructure for needed repairs and implement emergency repairs. You are considered the technical expert in all matters relating to the overall site operations (HVAC, DDC Controls, electrical, mechanical systems ect.). The work requires considerable independent judgement and action in the coordinating of property maintenance work and small construction projects.- You will assign, supervise and check the work of a subordinate engaged in minor and routine maintenance and facilities upkeep. You will assist with minor interior renovations to buildings by estimating material and labour costs and preparing specifications for minor facilities or building modifications. You will perform a variety of routine maintenance, repair, and operational tasks including minor electrical and plumbing work, and checking and repairing equipment and control systems. Performs related work as required.**Requirements**:

- You will possess a 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate or equivalent. Education in an Engineering or Construction Trade and certification for maintaining chillers and pool systems would be assets. You will have considerable knowledge of technical building systems and equipment for an ice rink, splash park, telecommunications and Wi-Fi, complex lighting arrays, HVAC and elevator systems. Your strong interpersonal skills will facilitate cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts. Proficiency with MS Office and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License are required.**Compensation**
- $39.14 to $46.97 per hour- (Pay Grade 22 - January 2024 rates)**Hours of Work**
- The hours of work are eight and one-half (8.5) consecutive hours, inclusive of an unpaid one (1) hour meal break, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., on any five consecutive days with two consecutive days off, except when changing work weeks. The City of North Vancouver currently works a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately every three-week scheduling cycle.**Additional Information**
