Autobody Refinish

Barrie's leading family run Automotive Repair Centre is seeking an **Auto Body Refinish (Prep/Paint) Technician** to join our team

This position works as part of a Production Team that is responsible to assess a vehicle following body repair to restore and refinish the vehicle to pre-accident condition.

A Refinish Team Technician must foster positive team spirit within their own Team, as well as other Production Teams and departments. This person must perform work thoroughly and always strive to improve productivity and quality of work.

**Requirements**:

- A team player with a positive attitude
- Detail oriented, pro-active and open to learning new technical collision prep techniques
- Work independently without close supervision
- Flexible/adaptable to constant change
- Maintain a safe and clean work space and surrounding area
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Valid “G” drivers license with a clean driving abstract

**Duties / Responsibilities**
- Evaluate bodywork prior to starting the refinish
- Prepare the damaged area of the vehicle for painting
- The use of all prep products according to the manufacturer's recommended procedures
- Check all parts to ensure that they are all on site and correct for the repair assigned
- Protect the vehicle from primer and overspray and any removal of overspray as necessary
- Use all paint-related products according to the manufacturer’s recommended procedures
- Color match and mix paint according to vehicle’s specifications and insurance guidelines
- Refinish and blend, according to vehicle’s original factory specifications
- Completion of all refinishing per the estimate or work order in a timely manner and using proper repair methods
