POSITION: SOCIAL WORKER (MSW)
Listowel Mental Health Outpatient Services
Regular Part-time

: The Social Worker is responsible for providing direct clinical services and education to clients and their families within the assessment and treatment framework of social work knowledge and skills. They will be responsible for providing evidence-informed psychotherapeutic interventions while supporting clients and their families individually as well as in group. The Social Worker will assess the psychosocial needs of clients and assist in the development of a comprehensive treatment plan that meets the needs of the client. They will act as an advocate on behalf of the client as well as liaison between community and hospital programs. The Social Worker will provide support to the outpatient teams for all sites within the Alliance.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Outpatient Mental Health

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $40.40 to $51.47 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:
Required:

- Masters of Social Work is required
- Current registration and in good standing with the OCSWSSW
- Current licensure with appropriate college or association
- Extensive knowledge of evidence-informed psychotherapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and other innovative modalities for clients and families for psychiatric disorders
- Extensive knowledge of the Recovery Principles and Recovery Model
Preferred:

- Knowledge of Narrative Practice in single session therapy
- Certification in Brief Solutions Focused Therapy
- Completion of suicide training program
- Completion of a crisis intervention certificate program
- Current CPR certification
- Completion of Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training

**Experience**:

- Minimum three years’ current progressive clinical experience supporting individuals with psychiatric disorders in hospital or community setting.
- Minimum three years’ experience in the assessment and treatment of adults experiencing psychiatric disorders.
- Extensive experience in individual, family support and group therapy.

Abilities:

- Knowledge and familiarity with psychiatric disorders, assessment, and treatment plans.
- Able to lead in the development and facilitation of group therapy programming specific to mental health clients.
- Demonstrated ability to complete treatment plans and crisis plans with the client, community partners and colleagues.
- Willingness to provide psychotherapy in an outpatient office setting and in the community.
- High level of initiative, superior communication, organizational skills, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, written/verbal communication and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of mental health reform and values, principles of recovery, Mental Health Act, PHIPPA, Health Care Consent Act and Public Hospitals Act.
- Personal transportation and hold a valid Ontario driver’s license.
- Auto endorsement insurance for the purposes of patient transportation.
- Ability to travel to client’s home to provide assessment and care as required within Huron and Perth.
- Self-directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development and client and family centred care.
