**Salary Range: $32 - $37/hour**
**Job Summary**
**Principle Responsibilities**
- Perform machine start-up, shutdown, color changes, and any necessary processing changes to ensure that the machines remain running safely and efficiently
- Monitor and repair all auxiliary equipment and notify maintenance, mold shop, and/or supervisor of any issues with machines. Repair broken operator tools, so they can complete their tasks
- Monitor quality of parts and make appropriate process adjustments to correct part defects, meet product specifications and production requirements, and optimize productivity. Communicate regularly with Supervisor and Quality Control about bad parts to help prevent future nonconforming products
- Modify status and provide comments in MES terminal in accordance to machine related downtime incidence
- Check material melt temperature and mold temperature. Analyze material moisture
- Purge and cleaning of barrel. Cleaning molds and spraying rust inhibitor
- Identify and repair minor tooling and fixtures
- Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Completion of High School or equivalent experience required
- Functional knowledge of injection molds, injection molding machines, injection molding processes and mold setups
- Plastic Processing or Injection Molding Certification is an asset
- Understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Understand machine controls, properties of materials, associated quality tests and standards to determine root causes of quality defects and effectively trouble-shoot the process
- Able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities as required
- Excellent time management organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible to work 12-hour continental shifts
**Working Conditions**
Incumbent spends almost 100% of time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. The majority of the work will involve lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50 lbs), standing, and walking. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and predictable workflow, bring some stresses to this position.
