Dog Boarding Attendant

North of Woof (Woof's Country Boarding Facility in Schomberg) is currently seeking **full time **boarding attendants for both day and overnight shifts (on overnight shifts you are encouraged to sleep).

**About**: We are a small home style boarding facility that offers daily outdoor and indoor play space and daily hikes on our 50 acres. We host our boarding in our coach house. This job is all about making our dogs tired, happy and comfortable. We are home style boarding (no kennels) so the space is set up to feel comfortable and as close to an open concept house as we could manage.

**Full Time**: 3 Shifts Per Week (12 Hour Shifts - either 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am)
(Staff **must** be able to do a combination of both day and overnight shifts)

**Day Shifts: 7am to 7pm**
- **Morning Arrival**:Get notes from overnight staff before departure. Check incoming and outgoing list, and prepare for day.
- **Morning Feedings**:Administer Morning Feedings
- **Outside Play Time**:Oversee morning yard playtime with dogs, assist with any owner drop offs/pick ups etc
- **Morning Break & Downtime (both dogs & staff)**:

- **Farm Daycare & Additional Arrival (Weekdays)**:City & Shuttle Dogs arrival with staff.
- **Hikes**:Rotation of hikes with dogs on the property & oversee yard playtime
- **Afternoon Break & Downtime**:

- **Dinner Time Feedings**: Administer Feedings, oversee bathroom breaks
- **End of Day Tidy, Daily Note Input & Downtime**: Ensure all daily cleaning tasks are completed, help dogs settle for the evening.

**Evening/Night Shift: 7pm to 7am**
- **End of Day Tidy**:On arrival, while dogs are settling, end of day cleaning/tidying is finished
- **Dog Note Updates & Next Day Coming and Going**:Inputting dog notes to ensure that any information needed for next day or clients is put in dogs boarding history. Updating any dog arrivals or pick ups for next day
- **Last Bathroom Break of the Night**:Ensure all dogs have taken their last washroom break for the evening.
- **Pull out and set up extra dog beds for sleep**:Set up any requested crates or bedding for dogs.
- **Relaxing with tired dogs**:Taking some downtime with the dogs to help them settle...and go to sleep. Often times, you're just lazing about watching TV and keeping dogs comfortable.
- **Set Up Staff Bed**:All staff provided personal storage for overnight items (we provided everyone with personal bedding), set up the bed and sleep once dogs have settled.
- **Morning Wake Up**: Morning bathroom break for dogs, pack up personal bedding and pull up dog beds. Morning Staff arrives.

**Hours & Shifts**: Day Shift: 7am to 7pm || Evening/Overnight Shift: 7pm to 7am
- Must be available on Weekends and Holidays (we try and make it fair and rotate staff but we are a 7 day a week/ 24 hour a day facility)_

**Have a dog**?: If you have a dog who is dog friendly and spay/neutered (over 6 months) and up to date on vaccines you are welcome to bring them with you to work as long as they do not interfere with your ability to work your shift.

**Scheduling is flexible.**

**Training**: Training and oversight are provided. Training shifts are shorter shifts while staff learn the ropes, do dog behaviour training and systems training. All training shifts are day shifts.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
