**Scope**
The Migrant Worker Support Program (MWSP) Counsellor is responsible for promoting the MWSP program to temporary foreign workers arriving to Pearson International Airport. The MWSP Counsellor is responsible for increasing migrant workers’ awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities, as well as providing information about Polycultural, community, and government services. The MWSP Counsellor is responsible for meeting assigned targets, record-keeping, data entry, and report preparation. Additional competencies include working cooperatively with others, demonstrating flexibility in organizing work, showing a high degree of initiative, judgement, and resourcefulness. The incumbent must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate thoughtfulness in decision-making.
The incumbent must be able to work flexible schedules based on incoming flight schedules, which includes early mornings, evenings, and weekend work as needed.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Client outreach at airport arrivals and within trans-border doors
- Proactively raise awareness of MWSP among Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) and ensure they are aware of available supports. Provide TFWs with comprehensive information on services available under MWSP.
- Provide orientation to migrant workers and their families regarding their rights and responsibilities while living and working in Canada
- Connect migrant workers with community programs and government services
- Preparation and distribution of welcome packages to TWFs
- Assist clients during emergency situations and provide support as needed (e.g. lost documents, lost luggage, unable to connect with Canadian employer, etc.)
- Work in collaboration with other teams, government, and community agencies
- Facilitate information group sessions on settlement topics in-person and online
- Maintain working relations with agency programs and partner agencies
- Effectively track services in databases and provide accurate reporting
- Must meet targets set by Project Coordinator
- Manage client needs with respect and empathy
- Perform any other related duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Post secondary education (Marketing, Community Services preferred)
- Experience working with newcomer communities (preferred)
- Ability to speak Spanish
- Knowledge of human services sector and services offered to migrant workers in Ontario (preferred)
