**The Role**:
Our Shell wells business operates within Alberta and British Columbia; most notably our Groundbirch asset in Fort St. John and our operations in Gold Creek in Grande Prairie. This operational scope includes one Drilling rig which drills 25-30 wells per year over 300 days in both the liquid rich and dry gas plays of the Montney. Completions comprises of approximately 100 days a year with well interventions making up approximately 150 operational days.

The Wells team consists of both technical engineering and operational expertise delivering the portfolio from front end design through to execution. In total, the in the Wells team is accountable for approximately 150 million CAPEX.

Our wells team is currently seeking a **Drilling & Completions Supervisor** who will be responsible for the managing onsite operations across all three functions compromising of Drilling, Completions, and Well interventions. This is a field-based position which works a 2 week on and 2 weeks off rotation across various remote locations through Alberta and British Colombia. Ideal locations for this team member to reside in are Grand Prairie, Fort St. John, Wainwright, Calgary or Edmonton but other locations in either province are acceptable.

Responsibilities for this Role include:

- Act as a safety leader through championing the HSE tone and expectations for each location
- Lead all operations in a manner that ensures the health and safety of all personnel in parallel with the protection of the environment
- Lead all pre-tour safety meetings and participate in all 3rd party safety meetings and JSA discussions
- Responsible for the onsite participation and implementation of all safety policies and programs
- Maintain proper well control certification and be capable of managing well control situations
- Identify and assess HSE and operational risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate same
- Ensure work plans are communicated to and understood by all affected personnel
- Ensure operations comply with all statutory, policy and program requirements
- Ensure all regulatory approvals are in place prior to any operations taking place
- Continuously identify ways to reduce cost and improve work program effectiveness without sacrificing quality, production rates or reserves
- Communicate daily with the Wells Engineer to continuously improve well planning and execution
- Maintain direct and timely communication with the Field Wells Superintendent and Wells Superintendent
- Investigate, follow up and ensure all incidents relating to rig site personnel, equipment and procedures are closed out
- Monitor, evaluate and regularly report on overall performance against program and performance of the services and equipment involved in the operation
- Ensure all daily open wells reports are submitted on time and information is complete and accurate
- Coordinate, supervise, and critique service company activities. Report opportunities for improvement and significant achievements that are specific to service company performance
- Review and recommend optimization of engineering program/procedures
- Maintain logistics plans and communications for equipment, personnel, and services
- Actively communicate with stakeholders, and take time to safely perform work to protect our people and environment

Skills and Requirements:

- Must be eligible to work for any employer in Canada without Sponsorship
- Diploma in engineer or Technology, preferably in Petroleum or engineering discipline would be considered an asset
- 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Well-developed project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrated ability to create an environment which fosters innovation and continuous improvement
- Deliver positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe environment
- Take ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable
