Recognized for their innovation and excellence, they are seeking a **Controller** to lead and optimize their financial operations in Montreal, driving compliance, efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
**Position Summary**
The **Controller** will oversee the company’s financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic objectives. This position involves leading an accounting team, implementing internal controls, managing audits, and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The Controller will also collaborate on financial strategies and reporting to support the company’s continued success.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Accounting Operations**
- Lead the **month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes**, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team to foster professional growth and operational excellence.
- Oversee **monthly contract accounting** to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards.
- Manage **cash flow operations**, including the oversight of bank accounts and related activities.
**Audit & Compliance**
- Prepare for and facilitate **internal and external audits**, delivering timely and accurate schedules.
- Develop and maintain strong **internal controls** to ensure compliance with SOX and company policies.
- Monitor **Balance Sheet** and **P&L reconciliations** to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
**Strategic Contributions**
- Collaborate with external accountants and senior leadership on **R&D tax credit claims**.
- Drive **process improvement** and automation initiatives to enhance financial operations.
- Contribute to the development of financial strategies to safeguard assets and promote long-term growth.
**Required Qualifications**
**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree in **Finance** or **Accounting**.
- **CPA designation** (mandatory).
- Minimum of **6 years** of relevant finance or accounting experience.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Strong leadership and team mentorship skills.
- Expertise in managing **Balance Sheets** and **Income Statements**.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Fluency in **English and French** (oral and written).
**Technical Skills**
- Proficiency in **Oracle SmartView** (preferred).
- Experience in the **Aerospace and Defense** industry (preferred).
**Security & Eligibility Requirements**
- Eligible for registration with the **Controlled Goods Program (CGP)**.
- Ability to obtain and maintain **Government of Canada Reliability Status** and **Secret Level 2 clearance**.
- Must meet **U.S. ITAR compliance** requirements.

**Application Information**
Pay: Up to $140,000.24 per year
