This position is responsible for purchasing of production materials and general merchandise, and maintaining current database information related to purchased items.

**Responsibilities**:

- Processing purchase order requisitions and requests and creating and releasing purchase orders.
- Follow up PO lines to maintain current database information for all purchased items.
- Research and negotiate most cost effective sources for material requirements.
- Maintain current database information related to items, costs, vendors.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and team members.
- Demonstrate the accountabilities under Vidir’s Safety Management System and Continuous Improvement Programs and lead by example.

**Qualifications**:

- 1-2 years purchasing experience.
- 2 years purchasing in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Completion of, or enrollment in the Supply Chain Management Association would be an asset.
- Experience working with ERP systems or supply management software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with high level accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$47,000.00 per year
