Woodshop Technician

West Four Group of Companies Inc. is a Western Canadian leader in supplying doors, hardware, and building specialties. Our trade brands are Madero, Penner, Security Building Supplies, and Two Six Creative, with facilities in Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg.

Our Security Building Supply Saskatoon facility has an opportunity for a full-time Wood Shop Production Worker. This person will report to the Operations Manager.

**Duties**:

- Set up, operate, and tend all types of woodworking machines, such as saws, milling machines, drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, wood-fastening machines, and hand tools.
- Set up the equipment, cut and shape wooden parts, and verify dimensions, using a template, caliper, and rule.
- Complete projects on time and safely.
- Install glass, locks, hardware and electronics to fixtures.
- Door finishing.
- Package doors for long haul shipping.
- Be physically fit and able to lift doors up to 50 lbs without hardship.
- Work safely and abide by OH&S standards/requirements.
- Clean equipment and work site area.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

**Skills and Abilities required**:

- Comfortable in using table saws, bend saws, measuring tapes, calipers and operating machines.
- Ability to read plans and machining spec sheets would be an asset.
- Ability to identify different wood species.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess knowledge in carpentry/framing.
- Valid driver's license.
- High attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Willingness to learn new manufacturing methods, strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
