**POSITION**: REGULATORY MANAGER

**DEPARTMENT**: LANDS AND RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

**WAGE RANGE**: BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS

**CLASSIFICATION**: TERM - 6 MONTHS

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
Under the direction of the Director of Lands & Resources, the Regulatory Manager shall provide leadership, management and coordination of Kahkewistahaw First Nation activities in regulatory compliance and consultation relating to resource and industrial projects and activities affecting the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, its reserve lands and traditional territories. The Regulatory Manager shall also be responsible for assisting in the managing, coordinating and placing into reserve status of all lands acquired under the Kahkewistahaw 1907 Specific Claim Trust Agreement.

The Regulatory Manager shall also provide support and assistance to the Lands Manager in terms of the performance of their duties and responsibilities including assisting the Lands Manager with consultations and discussions involving industry and government representatives as they relate to projects and activities affecting the Kahkewistahaw First Nation.

**REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES**:
1. Possess a grade 12 or equivalent and a Certificate in Land Management and/or related field of two (2) years would be a definite asset.

2. Have experience and knowledge with computers and software programs.

3. Must have strong written, oral, communication, and organizational skills and work independently with mínimal supervision

4. Possess the ability to maintain the management of confidential information and must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.

5. Must be able to read and interpret, orthophoto and topographic maps, etc.

6. Know how to negotiate permits/leases and assist with revenue collection as required.

7. Must be willing to take recognized Land Management Training or willingness to take training.

8. Familiar with, land purchases, reserve creation process, and Land Code funding program.

9. Possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle (a truck would be an asset).

10. Must provide a drug screening test if selected for the position.

11. Must submit a current criminal record

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
