Job Summary:
Westgate Pacific is pursuing a certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO). Working closely with the Site Superintendents, the Project Managers, trade contractors and site crew, you will monitor the site-specific safety plan across the job site to ensure compliance, address any issues, and implement processes and solutions to align with Westgate Pacific standard of safety. You will evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards while developing strategies to control risks and manage all safety aspects for the jobsite. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on the jobsite.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote a culture that safety is the top priority for the job site and is everyone’s responsibility;
- Create, evaluate, and implement health and safety programs and strategies.
- Conduct daily environmental and safety audits for preventative measures, and ensure the jobsite do not pose a safety or health hazard to employees, work guests, and the general public.
- Inspect and examine all health and safety-related complaints, workplace accidents.
- Conduct site specific health, safety & environmental orientations for all new site workers and visitors.
- Provide the administration of First Aid to injured workers as incidents arise and record and investigate incidents to determine their causes.
- Aid in supporting injured workers through the assignment of modified duties.
- Support the preparation of project safety documentation, including safe work procedures, hazard assessments, and the provision of training and awareness to workers relative to these processes.
- Write daily safety and health reports or injury logs.
- Review and approve all subcontractors’ safety plans.
- Always bring up any concerns when faced with a hazard or hazardous behavior.
- Great communication skills.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in industrial, commercial or residential mid-rise high-rise construction safety;
- Valid Level-2 or Level-3 or Occupational First Aid certificate;
- NCSO or similar designation;
- Solid understanding of WSBC OH&S regulations;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Great problem solving skills.
- Class 5 Driver’s license

Job Location:

- Position would be based on-site.

Schedule:

- 8 - 12 hours, Monday to Friday.
- Some Saturdays as per site requirement.

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required
