We have an exciting new role of Manager, Accounting and Reporting in our Toronto office. The Manager, Accounting and Reporting will lead a team of 2 finance staff (one Staff Accountant and one Financial Analyst). The position will administer the monthly accounting close process and the reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as ensuring financial controls are designed and operating effectively.

**What You'll Do**
- Develop and implement finance reports/dashboards to report monthly transaction volumes and related key performance indicators to management.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, overseeing their professional development.
- Oversee the monthly accounting close process ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness.
- Manage the reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheets and income statements.
- Oversee all general ledger accounting including cash, prepaids, receivables, WIP, accruals, intercompany, capital asset, deferred revenue, long term debt and other assets and liability accounting ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure financial controls and processes are designed, and documented appropriately and operating effectively, including all account reconciliations (Bank, AR, AP, Trust etc.), journal entry reviews, asset safeguarding and reporting review controls.
- Ensure compliance with ASPE, the partnership’s accounting policies and provincial law society rules and requirements where applicable.
- Preparation of quarterly management discussion, as well as headcount and capital expenditure reports.
- Manage the coordination with the external auditors ensuring quality information is provided in a timely fashion and that all queries are addressed for the law firm audit and the pension audit.
- Assist with preparation of annual operational budget.
- Liaise with the business, management, and other members of the finance team to ensure needs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Identify and execute finance operations projects as required.
- Complete pension filings due to FSRA and other pension reporting.

**What You Bring**
- Professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Prior experience in progressively more challenging positions in finance (5+ years)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to meet multiple deadlines and tasks in a fast paced environment
- Possess excellent analytic and problem solving skills with the ability to think on his/her feet in a fast paced environment, anticipate requirements and consistently deliver exceptional customer service
- Requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, sometimes competing priorities
- Requires strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with lawyers to build consensus in team environments across departments
- Be organized, able to multitask, manage time well and work independently
- Enjoy working in a fast paced team and be motivated to continually learn and improve results
