Double Backer

We are looking for a Double Backer for our Ancaster location. This position will be reporting to the Corrugator Supervisor.

**Broad Purpose**:
To safely operate and maintain all equipment and machinery to produce quality products per company quality policy

**General Job Duties**:

- Work in a team environment and be a team player
- Prepare the double backer for start-up which may require overtime
- Operate the double backer, keep machine running to production targets
- Make adjustments as required, wrap, starch etc.
- Visually and continually inspect for any non-conformances
- Prepare machine for shift shut down when required which may require overtime
- Perform quality checks before and during runs
- **Perform housekeeping as required ie: clean-up conveyor and rollers**:

- Daily clean up and preventive maintenance at end of afternoon shift
- Follow all ISO procedures
- Report all problems to your Supervisor when they occur
- Other duties as assigned

**Safety Responsibility and Accountability**:

- Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure
- Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed before use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
- Report all hazards / problems to your Supervisor when they occur.

Other available tools are when hazard rating is low.
- Pre-use inspection form
- Use Manager plus and place a work request
- Use of hazard reporting form
- Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) - Gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, Hi
- viz vest in Shipping/warehouse
- Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
- Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time
- Zero Tolerance - Workplace Violence and Harassment: Refer to the policy posted on the H&S board.

**Education**:
Minimum High School Diploma

Basic Math

**Essential Skills/Qualifications**:
Previous manufacturing experience an asset

Machine operation skills

Organization skills

Good communication

Flexibility to work rotating shifts

Team Player

Self starter
