The **Material Handler** is directly accountable to the Production Supervisor on the floor and the Operations Manager.

Able to organize, control and prioritize area of responsibility and to carry out to completion on an agreed timetable and to abide by all Vicwest health and safety rules.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Unloads coils from trucks
- Reviews and completes coil check sheet
- Loads trucks as outlined by the shipping department
- Completes shipping inspection checklist to hand into shipping department
- Receive and put away products
- Pick and pack orders
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment
- Use a variety of hand/power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Applies lean manufacturing principals to every day duties
- Other duties as required

**EDUCATION, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- Class 5A license an asset
- SAP experience an asset
- ISO quality of standard experience an asset
- Able to distinguish varying colours
- Lift-truck license an asset
- High mechanical aptitude
- Effective problem-solving skills, including a high degree of analytical thought and creativity
- Good verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on a wide variety of tasks
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs.

- Machine Operator: 3 years (required)
