**Journeyman Heating/Cooling Technician**

**The Position**: The Journeyman Heating/Cooling Technician services and maintains all school heating cooling systems. He/she also does general maintenance for Division buildings and grounds.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

- Must be proficient with Delta Control Systems
- Journeyman Pipefitter/Gasfitter or HVAC Mechanic (“B”gas licence required.) Preference will be given to individuals who hold a Provincial Class “A” Gas License
- Must be able to thread pipe, braze pipe and solder pipe
- Experience with pneumatic/electric control systems
- Able to read electrical schematics
- Proficient with installation, repair and hot water systems, including condensing boiler systems and forced air furnaces/ Air Conditioning units (charge and pump down units)
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and technical documents
- Ability to perform calculations to size equipment
- Ability to track and maintain filter logs
- Ability to service, repair and replace pumps, strainers, valves, coils, etc.
- Ability to repair exhaust fans, make-up air units, adjust/repair belts and pulleys
- Working knowledge of codes and standards
- Minimum 5-years relevant experience
- Workplace Safety and Health training, including Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Good computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to respond to emergency callouts
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
- Ability to work at heights on equipment such as ladders, scaffolds and mechanical lifts
- Ability to work in confined spaces
