**A.** **Purpose and Scope**

To assist Microbiology Supervisor and / or Microbiology Manager in microbiological testing and other GMP related activities.

**B.** **Responsibilities**
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, bulk and finished goods, purified water and component according to established methods, maintaining documentation on microbial analysis.
- Perform the C&S of all equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform calibration of Microbiology lab equipment.
- Perform environmental monitoring (Plant and microbiology Lab.).
- Prepare media according to procedure, perform all QC testing (pH, Growth promotion test, sterility test) Observe and document the results.
- Assists in equipment maintenance and performance monitoring in Micro lab equipment.
- Assists in investigation of Out of specs micro test results.
- Collect water samples from designated ports according to established sampling plan and perform the tests as per SOPs.
- Check and maintain the inventory of supplied materials. Inform Supervisor/Manager for the requirement of materials. Receive & arrange the supplies.
- Prepares micro-related documents and records.
- Assists in execution of cleaning and sanitization validation studies for major equipment by taking swabs, micro testing and reporting the test results.
- Train Microbiology Lab Technician in related tasks involved but not limited to media preparation, performing microbiological testing, monitoring of micro lab equipment etc.
- Observe and release the results of microbial content test as per specified methods and prepare the releasing documents.
- Any GMP or micro related task assigned by lab supervisor/manager.

**C.** **Job Requirements**:
A. Education and Training
- Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, or related science and or diploma in Microbiology after completion of post-secondary diploma.
- Trained and hands-on experience in microbiology and QC/QA functions is must, WHMIS and GMP.

B. Experience
- A minimum of one year on the job experience in a cosmetics or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, or equivalent

C. Other Skills Required
- Team player, self-motivated. Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skill.
- Strong interpersonal, documentation and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in MS word, Excel and Power Point.
- Good knowledge of GDP, GLP and GLP.
- Good knowledge of USP and other regulatory bodies’ requirements.

E. Report to Microbiology Manager.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
