**About the role**

Our growing team is looking for a Manager, Finance and Reinsurance

**Participation in month-end activities**:

- Ensure that the financial close process, including system feeds, reconciliations, controls and the review of results, occurs in a timely basis and with the highest level of quality.
- Organize a pre-closing preparation meeting with the team and ensure alignment on responsibility and timeline.
- Review month-end deliverables under the team responsibilities and provide feedback to the team.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to enrich the financial data offer and provide answers for a better understanding of the business while providing month-end analysis and answering ad-hoc queries.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and key disclosure. Review and support any external financial reporting and collaborate with the group reinsurance function to deliver quality and timely work.
- Coordinate and review all internal management reporting such as intercompany and aging reconciliation and provide key insight on key variance.
- Review and support the preparation of regulatory PC1 reporting to regulators.
- Maintain and improve effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Support regular internal audits to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation. Stream line financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in implementation of any new or changed accounting standards.
- Support and facilitate the audit process with both internal and external audit.

**Participation in project activities**:

- Lead reinsurance transformation project for the reinsurance activities under his/her leadership (RSA).
- Increase the efficiency and timeliness of the financial close process including reporting requirements to senior management and internal business partners.
- Influence the outcome of special projects impacting the reinsurance team.
- Build relationships and networks to support your professional growth and success.

**What you bring to the table**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- CPA designation (Certified Public Accountant).
- Experience with insurance company on reporting and/or projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as manager.
- Understanding of reinsurance accounting/contracts a strong asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Leadership skills, team player, independent and efficient.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade, influence and motivate from a wide variety of functional background.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
