Thurber has an exciting opportunity for an **Intermediate Hydrogeologist** to join our team in **Cambridge, Ontario**.
Thurber is a specialized consulting firm with a focus on geotechnical engineering. Our project work includes transportation, large and small infrastructure, natural hazards, development and more. We undertake challenging assignments that can include steep terrain, deep foundations, compressible soils, landslides, contamination, or other complications.
As our Hydrogeologist, you will work on varied projects and develop your skills with guidance and mentorship from our senior team.
**Responsibilities**
- Plan, coordinate and conduct investigation programs including drilling, test pitting, and installation of monitoring wells;
- Map and interpret surface geology features;
- Design and implement groundwater sampling programs;
- Hydrogeologic assessment for Transportation and Infrastructure projects;
- Aquifer testing (slug tests and pump tests);
- Manage project tasks and budgets;
- Supervise the work of technologists and Junior Engineers; and,
- Business development to expand groundwater and environmental consulting practice.
**Qualifications and Assets**
- Sc. in Hydrogeology or suitable experience;
- Eligible for registration with APGO or PEO;
- Previous experience (min. 5 years) in a consulting environment would be an asset;
- Strong technical, oral, and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently in various environments;
- Valid class G Ontario Driver’s Licence;
- Strong technical writing and communication;
- Hydrogeologic analysis and interpretation;
- Evaluation of soil and groundwater chemistry (organic and inorganic);
- Working knowledge of current environmental regulations;
- Strong abilities with software and computer modeling;
- Team player with good organizational skills; and,
- Ability to work independently in the field.
