We’re looking for an** Instructional Design Lead** to guide a team of passionate Instructional Designers to produce high-quality materials for our curriculum department. In this role, you will contribute to the creation and execution of project development roadmaps as well as coaching and mentoring team members in an innovative environment to enable the achievement of individual and team objectives. Our Instructional Design Lead will thrive on motivating team members to develop innovative and industry-leading courses to build exceptional learner experiences.

This role will work remotely, with the opportunity to visit our co-working spaces for collaboration and team meetings.

**What will you do in this role?**
- Work with the department manager to create project road maps that respond to the asks in a kickoff document
- Manage the execution of projects including setup and maintenance of project boards, development of timelines, the delegation of tasks as well as motivate team members to ensure timelines, and deliverables are met
- Provide timely feedback to team members including guidance and suggestions of paths for improvement and identifying areas for professional growth and development
- Leveraging your expertise to provide advice to team members during the development of projects, assisting in overcoming barriers or challenges
- Review learner and instructor feedback on learning experiences to identify trends and suggest potential corrective actions and course changes to the department manager
- Remain current on industry trends, course-authoring software updates, and new solutions or tools in order to identify opportunities for creating new learning experiences and process improvements,
- Leverage your creativity to experiment with new ideas or tools, assessing the value of existing practices to ensure an innovative and engaging learner experience

**What do we look for?**
- Post-Secondary education in the fields of Education, Learning, and Development, or Instructional Design
- 5+ years of experience in course development with course authoring software, with 3 years as part of a curriculum, learning, and development, or training team
- A background in delivering both in-person and online training is a must
- Experience creating compliance-based training as well as WCAG-compliant courses
- Experience creating learning tools that support learners post-training (ex. Documents, reminders, knowledge databases)
- A demonstrated ability to understand user data to validate the success of learning experiences and suggest and carry our necessary adjustments if needed
- Proven ability to turn complex, technical information into meaningful and accessible learning experiences with clear action-oriented learning goals and learning paths
- Knowledge of learning-design principles (ex. Multimedia, Redundancy, Coherence, Personalization, Segmenting) and practices (ex. Show don’t tell, Action Mapping, SEDA scenarios)
- Familiarity with learning outcome structuring (ie, from basic, low-level outcomes to more complex ones)
- Ability to analyze data from learner feedback, identify trends, and find ways to improve courses
- Knowledge of Universal Design Language
- Ability to research both familiar and unfamiliar topics, storyboard a course prior to its development, and assess development progress against expected timelines
- Proven ability to work within a collaborative team (suggesting and incorporating feedback, completing their tasks, assisting when problems arise)
- A passionate ability to coach and mentor junior team members
- Proven ability to use Articulate’s Storyline and Rise programs to create courses
- Experience using Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps (particularly Indesign and Acrobat), Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Google Suite
- Familiarity with webinar platforms (ex. BigMarker, Zoom, Google Classroom), SCORM, and xAPI learning specifications
- Experience in conducting learner surveys and focus groups is nice to have
