**Job Description**:
What You’ll Be Doing

The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital, and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. Our goal is to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services.

As an Analyst, you will become integral to the “Deal Team”, which includes senior corporate bankers, by providing a broad range of support including financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis, industry research and assisting in the preparation of information memoranda and client pitch books. You will also be actively involved in the credit approval process, documentation and closing of loan transactions and on-going management of the loan portfolio.

How You’ll Succeed- Responsible for conducting in-depth company, industry and portfolio analysis to support the credit relationships for a portfolio of clients;- Play a key role in the preparation of client proposals and pitch documents which includes preparing bank market update slides, market pricing comps and syndication strategy slides;- Conduct sound, timely and well-communicated recommendations for credit facilities supported by thorough analysis and well-executed interpretation of relevant financial, industry, business and market information.- Run financial models mainly focused on credit analysis and risk rating evaluation;- Preparing presentation materials and relationship profitability assessments, which involve liaising with other product and industry groups within CIBC Capital Markets;- Prepare internal committee presentation documentation;- Maintain the group’s databases on a current basis;- Must be able to accept flexibility in required personal time commitments to complete work assignments.
