We are currently seeking a **Human Resources Assistant** to join our operations in a **full-time** position.
The **Human Resources Assistant** primarily supports the Human Resources Manager with recruiting and other HR- Administrative functions within VistaCare Communications and its subsidiaries. This full-time position is based out of our **Bedford, NS location**.
- Duties & Responsibilities
**Recruitment**
- Creates job advertisements for positions as required;
- Maintains job postings on external sites as well as company website;
- Distributes resumes to divisional managers for review;
- Participates in interviews as directed;
- Conducts background checks and maintains the Background Check vendor relationship/ ensuring invoices are passed along to Accounts Payable;
- Liaisons with recruitment agencies when required;
- Organize and participate in Job Fairs;
- Assist with school recruitment activities and presentations;
- Ensures recruiting data integrity on HRIS System daily;
- Prepares weekly/ monthly analytics reports.
**Onboarding/ Offboarding**
- Notifies stakeholders of new hires and departures;
- Submits requests for IT equipment and assists in the coordination of delivery of assets as well as coordinates equipment returns;
- Sends New Hire certificates and drivers abstracts to Safety and Fleet Managers;
- Ensures a smooth handover of all new hires to the hiring manager; with follow up to ensure any travel that may be required travel is scheduled;
- Provides the HR Orientation Presentation to all new hires on their first day;
**General HR Administration**
- General HR Administration;
- Corporate Event planning and hosting;
- Maintain HRIS System on daily basis and troubleshoot as may be required;
- Vacation Administration;
- Benefits Administration;
- Act as Payroll Administration Backup;
- Act as Safety KPI Report Administrative Backup;
- Act as the main point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns or questions;
- Assist HR Manager in the investigation of HR issues or complaints;
- Communicates employee programs and information as directed;
- Respond to inquiries for employee programs;
- Acts as backup for other HR Presentations and functions;
- Aid in the development and revision of company policies, programs and procedures;
- Maintain HR Electronic File systems.

- Additional Requirements
- Experience Required
- 1+ year of related experience in a HR Assistant role and/or diploma or degree in related field of study;
- High level of computer literacy; advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite of software, specifically Excel;
