**A New Tomorrow Treatment Solutions **is looking for a Temporary Full Time Social Worker (Leave Coverage) to join our team starting August 2024.

**Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Social Worker is responsible for providing clinical services to clients in recovery. The Social Worker participates in client screening and intake ensuring suitability. The Social Worker is responsible for collaborating on assessments, monitoring and development, implementation and review of client care plans. The Social Worker will take part in development of protocols and Policy and Procedure and adhere to both. A New Tomorrow supports both youth and adults recovering from substance misuse with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to transforming lives.

This position is responsible for the duties listed below in the areas of**:Clinical Care, Supervision and Reporting, Team Building, Administration, and Leadership.**

**Status**:Temporary Full-Time

**TERM**:6 months or until the return of the incumbent

**Clinical Care**
- Facilitate intake of new clients and collaborating on wait list management
- Participate in interdisciplinary clinical care conferences
- Support day to day management of clients in recovery
- Participate in and/or facilitate psychoeducational groups
- Provide crisis management, crisis support and stabilization supports to clients
- Network with client’s larger community support team ensuring wrap around services
- Attend weekly treatment plan meetings with clients to determine treatment goals which include ongoing assessment and evaluation of treatment goals
- Identify applicable community resources for clients and facilitate support throughout the continuum - intake to discharge
- Collaborate on appropriate discharge planning with clients that supports recovery goals and stability including housing, financials, and community supports
- Collaborate on aftercare services provided to clients and support transition back into community
- Maintain client records, daily logs, care plans and discharge summaries
- Support in building and maintaining community partnerships to develop community presence focusing on building culturally relevant, safe relationships with First Nation partners
- Collaborate in program development with therapeutic treatment team and adhere to and support therapeutic direction
- Promote a client centered, strength based and trauma informed holistic approach to treatment recovery
- Support facilitators with co facilitation.
- Ensure clinical practice and content are appropriate and sensitive to LGBTQ2+, cultural, racial, religious and other minorities
- Support and encourage clients to fully engage in programming
- Be alert for health & safety issues/concerns and report same to Operations Manager in a timely fashion

**Supervision and Reporting**
- Provide detailed client documentation in accordance with standards including licensing and Assisted Living Registry as appropriate
- Ensure commitment to confidentiality is maintained utilizing the guidelines of the Personal Information Act of BC and the BC College of Social Workers
- Contribute to Reportable Incident documentation ensuring adherence to licensing and Assisted Living Registry regulation as appropriate
- Commit to regular attendance at meetings with Clinical Manager identifying areas of success, areas of need and trends impacting service delivery
- Take part in direct supervision remaining open to feedback and development of professional goals
- Be open to participating in reflection, debriefing and processing distressing thoughts and vicarious trauma
- Participate in training opportunities and engage in continuous learning, skill development and improvement
- Take part in annual performance evaluation participating in setting professional goals and receiving constructive feedback
- Take part in HR process as necessary including the discipline process accepting opportunity for performance improvement

**Team Building**
- Take part in problem solving, conflict resolution with objectivity promoting the autonomy and growth of the team
- Advocate for the needs of service users and co-workers; provide positive feedback to co-workers and encourage service users in their treatment goals
- Build positive, supportive relationship with co-workers (including Nursing, Clinical and Managerial staff) promoting cohesiveness
- Collaborate with co-workers and clients for opportunity to improve service delivery and overall outcomes
- Engage in team building activities with co-workers and henceforth promote opportunities for the advancement of the workplace culture

**Minimum Skills and Qualifications**
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers or an interest in becoming registered with the BCCSW within your probationary period.
