Supervisor of Arena Operations

Reporting to the Manager of Arena Operations, the Supervisor of Operations is responsible for directly overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, Civic Centre, Lion's Park Arena, Earl Haig Family Fun Park, and Woodman Community Centre Pool in order to provide the public and the user groups with a clean, safe area in which to participate in recreational activities. The Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of staffing supervision at the facilities; assist in preparing and monitoring budget information; monitor maintenance and janitorial requirements as well as ice conditions and quality; and liaise with rental groups and special events organizers to coordinate details of events. In addition, this individual will coordinate and liaise with community sports organizations, including the Brantford Sports Council, on behalf of the Parks & Facilities Department.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Applicants have successfully completed a two (2) year community college program or equivalent
- Class B Refrigeration ticket considered an asset
- Over three (3) years' previous related experience in the operations of an Arena and supervisory position
- Familiarity with arena operations, coordinating events and health and safety regulations are required
- Applicants will have excellent computer skills and proven customer service and supervisory skills
- A Certified Pool Operator is preferred
- A Certified Ice Technician is preferred
- Applicants must have Basic Refrigeration
- JHSC certification is also an asset, or willing to obtain
- A valid Ontario G driver's license in good standing during the course of employment
- IMS 200 Certification or equivalent (ICS200) is considered an asset. Subject to course availability, certification must be achieved within the first year of employment
