**Role Designation**: Home-Based

**Job description**:
Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire Regional Lead Underwriters to join our Underwriting Team. Reporting to the Pembridge Underwriting Manager for Atlantic Canada.

**Accountabilities**:

- Manage team related administrative functions as delegated, including managing work distribution and phone schedules
- Identify trends, analyze causes, communicate results and make recommendations to appropriate management for process improvements, workflow, control implementation or education
- Identify training opportunities to improve quality, compliance & profitability and improvement in service level
- Provide training, coaching, guidance, and technical assistance to support development of underwriters and team performance
- Conduct underwriting quality audits and quality verification reviews as needed. (Subject to regional differences)
- Attend Best Practices meetings to drive consistency and improve underwriting best practices
- Investigate and resolve escalated underwriting complaints
- Review and respond to Ombudsman complaints
- Complete loss reviews and attend Large Loss meetings as required
- Perform day-to-day production work as needed
- Support Provincial Underwriting manager as needed

**Qualifications**:

- Requires the equivalent of a university or college degree and/or active participation in CIP courses or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Minimum of 8 years of Personal & Casualty front line underwriting experience or comparable or relevant insurance industry experience.
- Knowledge of regional insurance market and the brokers within the market is an asset
- Knowledge of Regional Regulations
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Teams and Zoom
- Proficient knowledge of Plus and AssistPlus is an asset
- Sound knowledge of products and underwriting best practices
- Strong decision making, analytical, problem solving critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
