**Position Title: Analyst - Environmental and Refined Products**

**Team and Location: Environmental and Refined Products - Vancouver, BC**

**Starting Minimum Salary from: $ **95,000 /year**

**Position Summary**:
Provide analytical support to both the Environmental and Refined Products teams. This position will be tasked with the further development and regular analysis on competitors, customers and industry trends which in turn will be used to develop and execute commercial strategies for both groups.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct research and analysis of renewable energy, fuels, and carbon market data and trends
- Design, build, and maintain supply-demand models for various markets (both refined and renewable markets)
- Create forecasts and identify trading opportunities
- Collaborate with broader Refined Team to identify possible market scenarios and cross commodity trades
- Present analysis and market insights to Traders, formats include written, verbal and PowerPoint
- Track local regulatory changes, new legislation, and international agreements as it relates to carbon markets
- Ad-hoc analysis of new markets, technologies, risk scenarios etc.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- University degree in Business/Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Technology or Science
- 5+ years in analytics, preferably managing large data sets
- Proven success with database and analytical tools (SQL, Python, R, etc.), data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI), mastery of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to cold call potential customers/suppliers/terminal operators on how Elbow River can add value.
- Ability to multi-task in a stressful open office environment.
- Prior experience in commodity markets would be of value.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written. Able to communicate up and down the organization on status, use and outputs.

- Ability to manage time effectively and can provide focus and attention on several key initiatives and delivery long-term projects on time.
- Prior experience in commodity markets would be of value.
