Production Supervisor

**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**:
This position reports to the Production Manager(s).
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Main Responsibilities**
Ø On a daily basis, ensure staffing levels are adequate within the department and document staff attendance and overtime.
Ø Notify HR if employees are absent.
Ø Ensure all areas and equipment in the department is operational.
Ø Organize and prioritize workstations.
Ø Control the flow of linen production in department.
Ø Ensure all production is completed according to schedule and in order of priority.
Ø Communicate regularly with Management and other departments to ensure all departments are aware of linen flow needs in a timely manner (i.e. Iron Department is running out of Flannel Sheets-high demand item).
Ø Prioritize all specialized requests.
Ø Oversee the quality of linen processing.
Ø Ensure employees maintain department quotas.
Ø Re-assign staff to ensure mínimal production interruptions.
Ø Organize sufficient cover off for all breaks.
Ø Meet with Supervisors from Washfloor, Cart Make-up and KOR to foresee possible shortages and develop plan to ensure they are mínimal.
Ø Oversee shortages and ensure they are fast tracked.
Ø Document all down-time and production numbers.
Ø Observe and note all safety violations.
Ø Responsible for the safety of all personnel in the department.
Ø Perform any other assigned tasks as requested by the Production and Operations Manager.
**Secondary Responsibilities**
Ø Monitor and ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed according to government legislation and company policies.
Ø Lead by example - working and acting safely at all times and providing staff with PPE.
Ø Establish production goals for each employee at their respective station.
Ø Demonstrate working knowledge of all equipment including basic machine programming.
Ø Ensure department(s) is kept clean and orderly.
**Safety Responsibilities**
Ø Promote and enforce all health and safety rules, practices, regulations, requirements, and company policies.
Ø Perform area safety checks and organization (trip hazards or unsafe or faulty equipment).
Ø Report and correct unsafe work practices.
Ø Ensure monthly department safety inspections are completed and submitted to the Production Manager.
Ø Ensure equipment is in safe working order.
Ø Investigate all accidents, injuries, or near-misses and provide support to the disability management program by aiding in the creation of return-to-work programs
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:Some post-secondary school is required. Equivalencies will be considered.
**Experience**:A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial laundry or manufacturing environment _is an asset_

Ø Interpersonal skills, team player.
Ø Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Ø Ability to analyze, prioritize and multi-task.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
Ø This position is located in a production plant environment and office environment.
Ø Requires continual standing, walking, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion.
Ø hep-B vaccination is recommended and provided.
Ø Constant exposure to noise from machines in the plant.
Ø Constant exposure to “moving” equipment - must be alert at all times.
Ø Constant exposure to noise from machines in the plant.
Ø Constant exposure to lint/dust particles in the air.
Ø Intermittent exposure to heat and humidity generated from equipment.
