**Receptionist**
**(Maternity Leave Coverage)**

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the front-end Receptionist is the first point of contact for those accessing Athabasca County services, providing friendly and professional reception to callers, visitors and ratepayers, and performing clerical duties as required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Provide friendly, professional reception to the public.

2. Answer a multi-line telephone system, answer general departmental queries, and refer calls to appropriate departments/persons.

3. Receive, sort and distribute the daily mail and deliveries.

4. Arrange for courier deliveries and assist with preparing mail-outs when required.

5. Coordinate and maintain the winter snowplow flag sign-up forms (Hold Harmless Agreements), snowplow flags, and related correspondence.

7. Maintain and distribute up-to-date contact information for Administration building, FCSS building, Public Works shop, Emergency and General contact information.

8. Maintain the Day Files and be familiar with Athabasca County’s records retention policy.

9. Assist with issuing cash receipts as required.

10. Prepare miscellaneous correspondence and provide assistance to County departments as required.

11. Maintain professionalism, including sensitivity to confidential information and documentation.

12. Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, word processing, spread sheets and power point presentation development.

13. At the end of each work day, ensure that all areas are secured (cash locked, equipment off, doors closed, etc).

14. Other duties and projects as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous administrative experience in an office environment
- Formal administrative training and education considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, publisher) preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: From $58,020.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Athabasca, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Administrative experience: 3 years (preferred)
