**This Opportunity**

We are currently looking to fill 6 **union casual Support Service Attendants roles in Outreach Attendant Services Program in Durham Region. Days, Afternoon, and Weekends included.**

In this role, you will assist clients living at home with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures.The clients you support may have physical or cognitive disabilities, be living with brain injuries or have disabilities related to aging.Your work will be guided by your clients’ directions and supported by experienced March of Dimes Canada staff members.

**Roles and responsibilities**
- Assisting clients with dressing and undressing;and helpingthemget out of and into bed
- Preparing meals
- Light housekeeping duties, including laundry assistance
- Engaging in friendly conversations
- Range in Motion
- Bowel and Bladder procedures
- Lifts and Transfers

**Qualifications and experience**
- High School graduate or equivalent
- PSW/Nursing background an asset
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset (but not required)
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Must be available to work during the summer season
- Must be able to perform duties in a professional manner which respects dignity and the right to privacy, and maintains clientand staff health and safety
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by receiving all required doses of a vaccine approved by Health Canada at least 14 days prior to the start of employment
