**Responsibilities for Loss Prevention**

Monitor public areas for potential threats

Monitor security systems and closed-circuit cameras.

Identify potential thieves or vandals among staff or patrons

Follow and confront suspected shoplifters

Review inventory and stock while investigating suspected pilferage by suspects

Work with law enforcement to detain/charge suspects or dishonest employees

Document theft and other security violations

**Qualifications for Loss Prevention**

Superior observational skills, good vision and attention to detail

Situational awareness to understand and assess risk quickly

Good judgment to react effectively and efficiently in stressful situations

Dedicated to cause mentality with enthusiastic drive

Emotional intelligence and good character judgment

Willingness to learn and enforce appropriate security and safety procedures as mandated

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physically fit to walk for up to 8 hours

Good memory

Act with honesty, integrity and understanding at all times

Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner with due diligence and consideration to others

Fundamental understanding of confidentiality, privacy and rights of people

Basic working knowledge of surveillance camera controls (nice to have)

**Requirements**:
Ontario Security Guard License or Dual License

Recent background check or willing to complete a new one

Prior experience in loss prevention or educational background in loss prevention, security or law enforcement NOT required but preferred

1-3 years retail experience NOT required but preferred

Must be able to work a flexible and dynamic schedule including weekends

Trained in CPR and first aid

Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
