**Job Summary**:
This position will oversee cast house operations, as well as lead and supervise a team to achieve optimal productivity.
**Required Education/Experience**:
- 5-7 years in Aluminum casting related industry
- High School Diploma/GED required. Poste-secondary diploma/degree is preferred.
**Preferred Skills/Qualifications**:
- Must drive a strong safety culture where safety is the number one priority
- Ability to lead a team to achieve optimal performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of the casting process, operation of equipment, aluminum alloys and standards
- Ability to work quicky and efficiently in a fast-paces, goal-oriented production atmosphere.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate on all levels
- Computer proficiency is required
- Must be able to work rotating 12-hour continental shifts (12am-12pm & 12pm-12am)
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for overseeing production employees consisting of Casting, Furnace, Saw, Crane Operators and Maintenance & Shipping employees on off-shift
- Achieve production targets/KPIs set by the Plant Manager
- Provide leadership in implementing and managing the prioritization of work tasks
- Maintain a safe work environment for all shift employees; follow and abide Ontario’s Occupational Heath Safety Act, as well Hydro’s Health, Safety and Environmental standards
- Ensure product quality and material chemistry compliance to internal specifications
- Learn casting procedure, familiarity with equipment and process
- Perform pre-shift meetings with crew for communication of shift goals, maintenance matters, review safety concerns and any other necessary communications
- Conduct yearly and mid-year performance reviews with production employees
- Hold employees accountable to Hydro’s Code of Conduct, values, policies and procedures
- Provide leadership, engage employees, mentor, coach and provide developmental guidance for all employees
- Complete daily shift reports, incident tracking and employee behavioral audits
- Participate in monthly inventory count and reconciliation
- Other duties as assigned
