Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Services Manager, the Maintenance Planner will plan and coordinate various mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to achieve optimum reliability through efficient use of human resources, time, equipment and material in the Thermal Region. This is a unionized position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maximize operating profit and equipment reliability and availability through planned maintenance.
- Ensure the Tradespersons’ tool time is maximized.
- Track and generate management reports for costs incurred from maintenance services or requests.
- Investigate, evaluate, make a decision and prioritize Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) request regarding maintenance and repairs.
- Establish, improve and monitor work standards, as well as provides technical advice and assistance to the Thermal Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Eliminate waste from maintenance activities through planning and preliminary scheduling of service activities.
- Assist Maintenance Services Manager by monitoring and reporting on the implementation of operational and maintenance strategies/practices.
- Contribute to maintenance cost reduction programs by identifying and implementing improvements on equipment and work procedures.
- Identify key issues and patterns from available data, to identify problems, conflicts in order to find solutions and alternatives.

Qualifications:

- Mechanical or Electrical Technologist Diploma Required
- Minimum of 2 years related experience including experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and process plant experience required. A related journeyperson certificate with considerable experience (3 years minimum) may be considered as an equivalency.
- Good Planning, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Team player with ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Must undergo a successful criminal background check.

Salary for this position ranges from $48.80/hr-$59.29/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $11,808 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health and dental benefits, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick days and a defined benefits pension plan.
