As Learning and Development Specialist, you will play a key strategic role in helping industry thrive in Eastern Canada. You will be responsible to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive Learning and Development (L&D) strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives. Your everyday ultimate goal will be to provide the conducive environment for all our team members to improve their employee performance, increase their productivity, grow in their career, and to promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement. By doing this, you will greatly contribute in creating optimal experiences for our employees, clients and partners, which is directly connected to our purpose and company values.

**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE**

Reporting to the Director of Talent & Culture, you will be responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of core and cross-functional L&D programs for all employees throughout the organization. This includes new hire orientation, technical training, soft skills training, leadership development, and career development programs. You will also work closely with business leaders and managers to identify high-potential employees and develop career paths and succession plans to ensure the organization has a pipeline of talent to support its growth.

**Drive the design and execution of Laurentide’s L&D Strategy**:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that supports the organization's business objectives and promotes a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends in all areas of L&D. Act as a transformational leader in sharing best practices within and across the organization.
- Work with internal/external stakeholders to budget and obtain government subsidies for all applicable L&D programs and initiatives.

**Lead the design and delivery of core and cross-functional L&D programs**:

- Lead and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify learning and development needs and ensure that core and cross-functional L&D programs are aligned with business goals and objectives.
- Design and ensure the delivery of Laurentide’s core and cross-functional L&D programs, including new hire orientation, internship programs, core technical training and soft skills training, leadership development, that improve employee experience and engagement, performance, productivity, and support career development.
- Utilize a variety of training methodologies and technologies, including e-learning, classroom training, coaching and mentoring, and on-the-job training, to ensure the effective delivery of L&D programs, as much for employees working off-site and “on the road” than for employees working at Laurentide’s locations.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), contribute with other internal stakeholders, and ensure that training records are accurately maintained across the organization.
- Monitor the effectiveness of competency-based training and development programs. Continuously evaluate and refine approaches to ensure maximum impact and lead the continuous improvement process as needed.

**Develop, manage, and maintain a comprehensive framework for identifying, assessing and tracking employee competencies across the organization**:

- Identify key competencies required for success in various roles and develop corresponding training programs to help employees develop these competencies.
- Conduct regular assessments of employee competencies and provide feedback to individuals and managers on areas of strength and areas for improvement.
- Partner with our Talent Acquisition team and managers to ensure that competency requirements are integrated into recruitment and hiring processes.
- Communicate the importance of competencies and development opportunities to employees at all levels of the organization.
