The Opportunity

As a pivotal member of our corporate Human Resources team, the Manager, HR Operations reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements, collective agreements, regulations, laws, and employee engagement approaches. This position is also responsible for providing direct support to managers and staff, and for leading a team of HR Partners (Site Support, Recruitment, Absence/Disability Management) with a client-service focus and an effective and standardized approach to processes and systems. This is a key partner role to operational leaders.

In this role, you will focus on:

- Lead the compilation, maintenance, and review of HR policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Assist in union negotiation preparation and the implementation of collective agreements.
- Drive initiatives related to compensation, benefits, employee surveys, and engagement programs.
- Develop and maintain compensation and benefits programs.
- Lead HR aspects of projects and liaise with internal stakeholders and external providers for program changes.
- Implement efficient methods for tracking statistics, sharing best practices, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Oversee the accuracy of information in appropriate databases.
- Mentor and support HR Partners, ensuring the timely delivery of AgeCare processes and procedures.
- Provide direct expertise and support to assigned communities.
- Guide corporate administration processes and facilitate training opportunities for HR Partners.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on policy, program, and process development.
- Monitor and suggest improvements to existing processes.
- Stay informed of employment laws and practices, contributing to various HR-related projects and tasks.

What you bring
- Certificate or diploma in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CHRP designation is an asset.
- 5-10 years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Generalist.
- Leadership and/or management training with demonstrated success in a leadership/supervisory role.
- Must have excellent English communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Prior HR experience within a seniors' environment is a definite asset.
- Demonstrated success in positively influencing others.
- Exposure to union environments is a definite asset.
- Thorough knowledge of employment and related legislation (e.g., Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act) and sound human resources practices.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of WCB claim handling and impact assessments.
- Experience with general OH&S requirements, compliance, and obligations is an asset.
