Reporting to the Manager of Provincial Offences Administration (POA), the Prosecutor prosecute cases and conducts appeals before the Ontario Court of Justice for offences under the Provincial Offences Act Parts I, II and III. The Prosecutor receives direction from the Crown Attorney, County of Renfrew related to legal issues, where appropriate.

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a valid license from the Law Society of Ontario as a lawyer or paralegal.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Provincial Offences Act and its practices and procedures, the Evidence Act, theCharter of Rights, related statutes, regulations and common law.
- Proven ability to prosecute/present/argue cases before a court.
- Proven ability to work under pressure in a high volume environment.
- Ability to execute all duties including exercising discretion and impartiality, professionally and objectively, in accordance to standards normally associated with the Provincial Crown Attorney’s Office.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducts prosecutions under Provincial Statutes, Federal Contraventions and Municipal By-Laws including motions relevant to the proceedings for Parts I, II and III Offences.
- Responds to, and conducts Part I, Part II, and Part III appeals under Provincial Statutes, and Municipal by-laws.
- Researches and prepares oral and/or written arguments for the above.
- Presents oral and/or written arguments, articulating the Crown’s position.
- Performs administrative functions.

**Salary**: $43.86-$49.36 per hour
