Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Manager of Information Technology plays a crucial role in overseeing the IT Operational environments at Air North, Yukon’s Airline. Responsible for both maintaining existing software, hardware infrastructure and strategic planning for future needs, this position combines managerial duties with direct involvement in IT operations. As a working management role, the IT Manager actively engages in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making while providing leadership to the department. Governance responsibilities ensure adherence to policies and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the IT landscape.

**Duties and Responsibilities include**:

- Ensure the smooth functioning of daily IT operations by overseeing activities such as system monitoring, performance optimization and incident management
- Implement and enforce best practices to enhance operational efficiency, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams to align IT systems and services with business requirements and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure the integrity, scalability, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure through comprehensive management, maintenance, upgrades and implementations of security measures
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, conduct assessments and audits, and respond effectively to cybersecurity incidents
- Ensure timely and effective deskside support, and deliver user training to enhanced IT literacy
- Guide ITSM optimization, champion processes aligned with goals, and monitor service quality improvements.
- Identify IT requirements, assist in purchase justifications, evaluate vendors, negotiate procurement agreements and maintain an efficient IT asset inventory.
- Maintain policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance, internal accountability, and alignment with industry best practices and business needs
- Manage contracts, licenses and service agreements to ensure optimal continuation and inventory while maintaining relationships with IT vendors, suppliers and service providers; participate in negotiations as required
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to manage IT operating and capital expenses (CAPEX and OPEX), budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure proactive plans for IT team
- Monitor and optimize IT expenses, identify improvement areas, reduce unnecessary expenditures, and eliminate redundancy for efficient cost optimization
- Foster a dynamic and collaborative team environment by leading through example, inspiring individual growth through guidance and mentorship
- Promote a positive and empowered work culture by cultivating open communication, defining clear roles and expectations, and establishing measurable goals to drive performance and accountability

**Qualifications/Conditions of Employment**:

- Minimum of 12 years working in various IT roles with at least 8 years of Managing IT teams and technology
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in IT procurement, project coordination, vendor management, and IT Service Management practices
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Project Management) can be advantageous
- Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or show proof of right to work in Canada
