**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and skilled Respite Worker/Behaviour Interventionist to provide one-on-one support to our daughter, who has multiple complex neurodevelopmental disorders. This position involves working closely with our family and a professional Behaviour Consultant to implement strategies and behaviour plans designed to promote her emotional, social, and physical well-being.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide direct one-on-one support, both in the home and in community settings.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and intervention plans under the guidance of a Behaviour Consultant.
- Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., dressing, meals, medication administration, personal care) when needed.
- Engage in therapeutic and recreational activities designed to support her developmental and emotional growth.
- Support and foster positive social interactions in the community.
- Monitor and document behavioural and developmental progress, providing feedback to the Behaviour Consultant and family.
- Ensure a safe and structured environment, maintaining a calm, supportive presence.
- Collaborate with family members to understand and respect Lenaya’s unique needs and preferences.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with children with complex developmental, and behavioural needs, particularly children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, intellectual disabilities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder or physical disabilities (experience with muscular dystrophy, coordination disorders, and attachment trauma is an asset).
- Knowledge of or willingness to be trained in behaviour intervention techniques, including positive behaviour support, and other strategies.
- Ability to follow individualized behaviour plans and care routines.
- Patience, emotional resilience, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours with compassion and consistency.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (family, consultants, and medical professionals).
- Valid driver’s license for community outings.
- NVCI - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training would be a bonus

**Schedule and Compensation**:

- Flexible part-time or full-time hours, with availability for both weekday and weekend shifts as needed.
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
