Selkirk, Canada Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre Full time

**IN THIS ROLE, YOUR FOCUS WOULD BE**:

- Attend scheduled community events and festivals, sharing information about Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre programs and engaging with attendees
- Respond to disclosures of sexualized violence by providing brief, trauma-informed support to community members at events
- Connect individuals with social services resources appropriate to meet their needs
- Build awareness around the issue of sexualized violence in rural Manitoba, reducing stigma and increasing public support for survivors
- Facilitate successful attendance at community events
- Develop content for Survivor’s Hope’s social media accounts
- Update existing resource materials (print and digital)
- Work collaboratively with the Reaching Out Program Coordinator and SARAH Crisis Coordinator
- Represent Survivor’s Hope at a wide variety of collateral agencies, networks, committees, stakeholders, and communities within region to build partnerships.
- Keep clear documentation of activities and assist in compiling program reports for funders.
- Maintain knowledge of appropriate community services, in order to provide information and referrals.

**WHAT YOU BRING**:

- In-progress or completed post-secondary education in community development, human services or social services (psychology, sociology, social work, education, human rights, etc.)

Or
- Relevant lived experience and/or experience working in social services settings - additional education, and/or training may be considered (ASIST, MHFA, etc.)
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and impacts of sexualized violence on individuals.
- Experience with community engagement and working from an empowerment model.
- Ability to work independently, with indirect support, as well as contribute positively to a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong intersectional feminist, anti-oppressive and anti-racist analysis.
- Demonstrated understanding of the social and systemic root causes of sexual violence and the context of increased risk of violence and differential impacts of trauma for specific groups.
- Knowledge of local community resources would be an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle required.
- Clear child, adult abuse check, criminal record, and vulnerable sector checks prior to start date as well as reliable reference statements are required.
