**Job duties**:
Alberta Production Machining is looking for a skilled machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. You will be capable of receiving a drawing and material, selecting methods and tooling to produce the part, then programming (if necessary), setting up, and producing the part(s) to meet the drawing requirements with the minimum of supervision. Parts manufactured at APM range from small screws to large tubular drilling parts with many variations in between. Batch sizes can be from 1 to 10,000 off.

- Set up, Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to preform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, plaining, drilling, precision grinding, and other operations.
- Reads and understand blueprints, studies specification and drawings to determine the machining operations and drawings to determine the machining operation to be performed.
- Calculates dimensions and tolerances, and prepares working sketches if necessary.
- Ensure workmanship throughout the manufacturing process and on finished goods, meets or exceeds the costs, quality and schedule expectations for all customers.
- Reads and interprets work orders
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges and other measuring devices.

**Skills Required**:

- Trade Certificate or Diploma
- 5 years work experience in trade/Journeyman ticket
- Knowledge of CAD-CAM systems
- In Depth knowledge of all tools and equipment and their use and care
