PRIMED Medical Products is looking for a Co-op student to join the Product Development & Innovation Team in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Product Development & Innovation, you will be responsible for supporting PRIMED’s projects and initiatives with a focus on design decisions, testing, data interpretation, generating product specifications, and project management. The Product Development & Innovation Co-op student plays a vital role in providing insights into product development and opportunities to ensure informed decisions can be made in a highly competitive market.

**Your day to day**:
The Product Development & Innovation Co-op Student contributes to new product development projects. The following is a list of the high-level activities/deliverables and is not meant to be all-inclusive:

- Conduct research on relevant standards, test methods, and features of competitor products.
- Provide valuable input to design decisions and review design documentation.
- Contribute to the creation and review of product specifications, ensuring completeness in project files.
- Design and execute product testing programs, summarizing, and interpreting test data to offer recommendations.
- Assist in testing, validating, and verifying product samples for quality assurance.
- Engage in project management activities, including documentation such as charters, status reports, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate external laboratory product testing, handling tasks like gathering quotes, shipping samples, and summarizing results.
- Organize and maintain critical design information and results, including testing outcomes.
- Support other technical projects within the Quality and Technical Services team, as available.
- Partner with the Student Interns on a variety of companywide initiatives.
- Undertake special projects and additional tasks as assigned.

**Who you are**:

- Senior year university engineering student with a focus on the medical field.
- Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting product specifications, diagrams, technical manuals, and procedural documents.
- Intermediate to excellent computer skills in a Windows-based environment, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advantageous to have prior experience in apparel design, AutoCAD, and laboratory equipment operation.
- Capable of performing data search and entry, document creation and modification, and handling complex spreadsheets.
- Proactive self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, along with organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects effectively and showcase creativity.
