Job Summary

Reprocesses sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Decontaminates, cleans, assembles, packages and processed products for sterilization, as well as requisite recording and control supplies. Strictly adheres to appropriate departmental standards, policies and procedures to maintain safe patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

Successful completion of a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.

MDRAO Medical Device Reprocessing Techniques Certificate required.

Minimum 1-year recent experience in sterilization and instrument reprocessing in a hospital setting is preferred.

CSAO membership required.

Knowledge of Best Practices for Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings.

Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS).

Skills and Abilities

Able to meet the physical demands of the job including - standing, sweeping, pushing/pulling, reaching forward and above and below the shoulders, able to lift up to 23 kg. and manual dexterity.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.

Ability to prioritize workloads and manage stressful work environments.

**Hours of Work**: Available for all shifts including weekends, statutory holidays and on-call.

**Other**: All job offers will require compliance with our COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for proof of full vaccination (two doses) unless provided with a medical exemption or an accomodation under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
