**Position Description: ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN**
Since its origin in 1981, JASCO has developed and implemented acoustic technologies for underwater acoustics, ranging from advanced acoustic recording systems design to complex acoustic modelling algorithms. We perform acoustic consulting, field monitoring and data analysis services. Our work encompasses all stages of environmental reviews and assessments of underwater noise. We work with regulatory, oil and gas, marine construction, energy, fisheries, transport, and defence sectors. JASCO has offices in Victoria, BC, Dartmouth, NS, the United States, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
JASCO is currently looking for an Electronic Technician in our Dartmouth (Woodside area), Nova Scotia location.
The engineering team in Halifax develops and supports a variety of underwater autonomous acoustic recorders. JASCO recorders are designed to record sounds of everything from industrial noise to marine mammals.
**Position Overview**
As an Electronic Technician you will be responsible for the testing and repair and overhaul of company electro
- mechanical products and components.
**Responsibilities**
- Testing of company products and custom systems
- Assembly and soldering of wiring, connectors, circuit board components, cables, and wire harnesses
- Cleaning and inspection of components
- Creating and maintaining production, assembly and maintenance documentation
- Documenting and troubleshooting issues and problems
- Adherence to quality system
**Required Qualifications and Experience**
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings / build to print
- Some experience assembling mechanical and electrical components and assemblies
- Some experience working with Computer-aided Design (ORCAD)
- Some experience soldering, wiring, and assembling cables and wire harnesses
- Some experience with inspection and testing of mechanical parts, printed circuit board assemblies, cables, wire harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies
- IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620 training or certification would be assets
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 registered company would be an asset
- Good manual dexterity
- Keen attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment maintaining focus on work quality
- Willingness and ability to learn
**Education**
- Electronic Engineering Technician College Diploma
